Terms of use

Last updated September 13, 2026.

1. What Slate does

Slate runs a recorded first interview from the criteria you write, then returns the recording, the transcript, and a scorecard. Slate does not decide who to hire. Every hiring decision, and the responsibility for it, stays with you.

2. Your access

Keep your sign-in secure. Do not share invitation links or recording links with anyone who should not see them. We may suspend access that we believe is unsafe, unlawful, or abusive.

3. Recording and telling candidates

A candidate's camera and microphone begin recording when they start an attempt, and Slate tells them so on that screen. You are responsible for whatever notice or consent your jurisdiction requires, and for using the results lawfully and fairly.

4. Your content

You keep your rights in the jobs, criteria, materials, and recordings that pass through Slate. You give us permission to host, process, and store that material so we can operate the service and keep it working. You confirm you have the rights needed to submit it.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Slate to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, submit material you are not entitled to submit, or interfere with the service or other users.

6. Availability

Slate is in alpha and is provided as is. Features, limits, and providers may change. The service may be interrupted. We do not warrant that any interview, transcript, or score is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or hiring outcomes arising from your use of Slate. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes

We may update these terms by publishing a new version here. Continuing to use Slate after an update means you accept it.

9. Who we are

Slate is operated by Ajay Krishnan Professional Corporation, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario hear any dispute. Write to slate@krishnan.ca about these terms.

10. Language

These terms are published in every language Slate is offered in. If the versions differ, the English version governs.
