1. What we collect

We collect your account details and organization, the jobs and criteria you write, the candidates you invite, the documents they upload, and each attempt's video, audio, transcript, and scorecard. We also collect ordinary technical data such as IP address, browser, and timestamps.

2. How we use it

We use it to run interviews, produce transcripts and scorecards, show them to you, keep the service secure, and fix it when it breaks.

3. Recording

A candidate's camera and microphone record while an attempt is running, and they are told this before they start. The interviewer works from audio only. No model analyzes the video.

4. Product analytics

While Slate is in alpha, we record how it is used, including a replay of what was on screen and typed, on operator pages and candidate interviews alike. We use it to watch the product work and to fix what does not work. Nothing on the screen is masked. Slate sets these cookies: ahoy_visitor for two years, ahoy_visit for four hours, _slate_session for seven days, time_zone for one year, and locale for one year when the language is switched.

5. Who can see it

The organization that created an interview can see that interview and its attempts. A practice interview is the exception: in that organization, only the person who sat it can see it. No organization can see another's. We can see it too: while Slate is in alpha, the people who run it watch the product work (section 4). We use service providers to run the product. They handle calls, transcription and scoring, storage, and hosting, and they process data on our behalf and only to run Slate. Today those providers are OpenAI in the United States for the interviewer and the scoring, Cloudflare for the interviewer's runtime and for storing recordings, and Hetzner in Germany for the server, so interview data leaves Canada.

6. How long we keep it

While Slate is in alpha, nothing is deleted on a schedule. An interview, its transcript, and its scorecard stay. A recording can be deleted. Doing so takes it out of review at once, but the file itself is held until we purge it deliberately. We purge a recording on request. Write to slate@krishnan.ca and a person destroys the file by hand. Backups and logs may persist for a time after that. A resume replaced by a newer upload is not kept.

7. If you are a candidate

The organization that sent your invitation link holds your interview record. Ask them to show it to you, correct it, or delete it. You may also write to us at slate@krishnan.ca. On request we destroy the recording itself, and it leaves the organization's review at the same time.

8. Security and changes

Sign-in is handled by Google. Invitation links expire and bind to one browser, recordings are stored privately, and every record belongs to one organization. No system is perfectly secure. We may update this page and will change the date above when we do.

9. Who we are
